Our Story

Welcome to 243 baby®, a family-owned luxury brand where timeless, chic, and minimalist design meets functionality and safety. We are Chelsea and Emmett—parents and the founders of this brand, born from our passion for creating the perfect environment for little ones. Based in New England, we set out to build a collection of heirloom quality
luxury nursery decor and baby essentials that not only reflect our values but also meet the needs of today’s families.

Our journey began years ago when we met while working for one of the world’s largest toy manufacturers, amassing nearly 30 years of combined experience. As we started our family, we realized there was a gap in the market for luxury baby products that were not only stylish, but also practical and safe. We wanted items that were made locally, and designed to grow with our children—all while adding a touch of elegance to our spaces.

Our brand name comes straight from the heart of our family. It’s a nod to an old tale of a lighthouse keeper who would use the light to flash “143” home to his family each night—a father’s way of saying "I love you" from across the water. It’s how we’ve always told each other "we love you" in our family, and now it’s the foundation of our brand. We chose 243 baby® to carry that love forward, pouring it into everything we create for you and your little ones.

Every 243 baby® product is thoughtfully crafted with longevity, quality, and presentation in mind. From the materials and the manufacturing processes we choose to the way each order is packaged, every detail is considered—so your artwork arrives beautifully and is made to be cherished.

Premium American-made archival paper

Our nursery prints are produced on premium archival-quality 100% cotton fine art paper that is selected for its weight, texture, and durability. The paper offers a soft, refined finish that complements our watercolor artwork while ensuring each print is made to last. It is naturally fingerprint, glare & scratch resistant and it comes in a neutral natural white color.

This archival paper is designed to resist fading over time, helping preserve color and detail so your artwork can be enjoyed for years to come. Lastly, the paper we use is made in the USA to ensure the highest quality and safety standards. 

Premium American-made felt 

Our felt nursery decor items are produced with premium American-made felt for lasting beauty and durability. The pieces are designed locally using the highest quality craftsmanship with meticulous attention to detail to add softness, warmth, and elegance to your nursery decor. 

Where possible, we aim to achieve our designs using a single printed piece of felt to keep the materials set as clean as possible and avoid the use of adhesives. 

Thoughtful printing & quality checks

We focus on local manufacturing and careful small batch production to be able to hand-inspect each unit before it goes out to our customers to ensure the utmost safety and quality with our products.

Our wall art prints are printed in Connecticut, and our felt-based products are printed in Maine with an emphasis on heirloom quality with meticulous attention to detail. We take great pride in maintaining consistent colors, clarity, and overall presentation—ensuring every piece meets our standards before it leaves our doors.

Every order is packaged with care to protect your items during transit. All our products are secured with protective materials for shipping and thoughtfully arranged to help prevent damage, so they arrive in excellent condition.
